In Singapore, a NEW law will beef up protection for consumers from businesses that falsely advertise their food and drink as being from brand-name locations, such as wine from Bordeaux or beef from Kobe, when they are not.

上周，新加坡最高法院裁决承认中国江苏苏州地方法院作出的一份判决，这是有史以来新加坡法院第一次承认并有可能执行中国大陆地区的法院判决。最高法院法官Andrew Ang在公开听取了双方的相关诉请之后，作出了一份口头判决，支持了中国江苏法院的判决，责令新加坡Aksa远东私人有限公司向中国Giant Light金属技术有限公司支付US$190,000 (S$239,000)。Andrew Ang法官很有可能会在未来适当的时候发表书面意见，阐述这份法院判决对新中公司在中国进行诉讼的影响。
